What is Advent? How Long Does it Last? Some people may know that the Advent season focuses on expectation and think that it serves as an anticipation of Christ’s birth in the season leading up to Christmas. This is part of the story, but there’s more to Advent. Today, the season of Advent lasts for four Sundays leading up to Christmas. At that time, the new Christian year begins with the twelve-day celebration of Christmastide, which lasts from Christmas Eve until Epiphany on January 6. (Advent begins on the Sunday that falls between November 27th and December 3rd each year.) Each week means a different candle is lit. It goes The Candle of Hope, The Candle of Peace, The Candle of Love, and finally, the Candle of Joy. Below is a video that me and some friends created.

Positive: Technology is amazing for communication, whether it be casual conversations, old family catch-ups, or an emergency, technology can do it. Since technology has instant sending and instant responses, there is no waiting for the mailman in today's society.\
Negative: With the instant messaging, technology has everyone at each other's fingertips. This can lead to horrible experience. Negative messages can lead to self-harm, or even as far as suicide. You cannot see the other person's face so it can be hard to actually feel like emotions or even feel like you hurt the other person. Way to Stay Safe: Simply avoiding people you know will hurt you, and telling an adult about it. They will help and can potentially talk to the cyberbully and make them apologize or make amends however is possible. There are plenty of ways to reduce stress. Doing something you like, staying away from where the stress is located. The one I decided to focus on is talking to someone. Speaking to someone, doesn’t matter who, will help you. The way it does is that it gets it off your chest. They now also carry the knowledge of what you are stressed about. It helps to talk about anything really. If someone is annoying you, talk to them or someone else about it and maybe they will stop doing what they are doing, therefore reducing your stress. If you have a secret that shouldn’t keep in, like something you saw and you know it is right to tell someone, putting it out there is the right thing to do. So if you have a lot of stress, it will really help to talk to someone about it because you don’t know if it will help you.
Adoration and Blessing: A prayer that offers adoration to God, and the blessing is thanking God for his favour and protection.
Petition: Includes personal needs and the needs of others. Basically asking God for something. Like praying for a new bike (Probably Selfish....) Intercession: Prayer on behalf of others, or to pray for someone else. Like praying for people who are stuck in a disaster. Thanksgiving: Thanking God for all the things he has given. Like our food, water, etc. Praise: Praising God in all his glory. Or praising Jesus. This is like, "God, I'm not worthy because of your might, your glory shines through all the lands, and blinds me. Lord I am not worthy." I don't know, I don't usually pray. I think having a relationship with God through Jesus is simple. It's prayer. If you pray to God, Jesus will take your message and deliver it to him. And once God get the message, he reads it and acts accordingly, everyone could have different views on the matter, it all depends on what you believe. This what I believe I guess.
It doesn't matter what you believe, or who you are, but you should always respect and care for others. Faith in Jesus could challenge you to respect and love others, but shouldn't any religion do that? Or everyone? I do not believe that Christ challenges me, but I still follow what he would want me to do, even if I did believe. A group of people cannot have a prerogative, even if they are divine. People can believe that others have one, but in reality we are all balanced and equal. Human freedom is limited by ourselves, not by others. If you want to do it, you can, but just consider the consequences afterwards. Prayer is a way of asking for something from God. and as I said before, it goes to Jesus before God. It was kind of nice to be pulled out of class for any reason. I learned quite a bit from the Archbishop's visit. It seems kind of weird for some really high up guy to visit a little school, but it was interesting. I am not religious, and at first I had no idea who he was, but then he talked about himself and what he did. I thought he would be some boring person drawling on about God and stuff, but he was pretty cool. I liked it, that even surprising myself. So, a few weeks ago my Mom and Dad came home in a good(ish) mood. They were getting upset that my brother was pestering them to open a present. So, we agreed to something. If me and my brother straight up ate 8 tomatoes each, we could open 1 present from each other. I wasn't very reluctant to eat them, so I just ate all of them. Of course my brother dragged it out until we almost had to go to bed. But in the end he finally ate them. So, I got a present I wanted for a while. I was in a happy mood and so was my brother because I got him what he was looking for a long time. In the end we made each others day.
During Reconciliation I felt like it was a waste of time for me because I do not care for stuff like that as I am not religious. The priest was nice and we had a small little conversation about Christmas. I kind of wish that this confession was optional. I didn't confess anything though. I don't know how others felt and reacted but this is how I did.
Hi, I have some much needed advice for grade 7 and it's for you. First off, you should always stay organized with your school supplies. Study and do your homework is very essential. And don't penguin slide in the hallways, believe me, you'll get in a bit of trouble. If you have your homework on time, stay organized and listen to teachers you'll be bound to do well in school. Also, do not do stupid things like penguin sliding in the hallway or throwing spoons at people. I wish I knew these things when I was in grade 7. I mean, I did my homework and school work, but I goofed off when I should have studied, and I did some stupid things. I hope you take my advice and do what I should have done!
Sincerely, Grade 8 Kam Last month I felt more considerate but mostly at home. I had considered stuff with my brother and parents but in all honesty, I had most forgot that I had to do this post because I didn't read the part about doing a blog.
